Security Engineer

Vagaro is seeking a motivated security engineer who brings strong security knowledge, skill set, and passion in securing modern cloud applications and infrastructures. Conduct vulnerability scans, perform attack simulations and coordinate pen-tests.

Perform security and risk assessments, threat modeling, and remediation assistance.

Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Guide security operations, including email, endpoint, network, and system hardening.

Collaborate with engineering to implement secure designs and coding training.

Assess threat intelligence and provide security briefing to internal stakeholders.

QualificationsAny of the following

B.S. in Computer Science, Information Science, or Engineering with 2+ years in cybersecurity positions

3+ years of work experience in web development plus coursework from cybersecurity bootcamp or degree program

4+ years of work experience as a cybersecurity practitioner

Solid understanding of network protocols, web application technology, security monitoring tools

Programming skills from prior work experience in at least one of C# (web applications), C/C (IoT), PowerShell or Linux shell programming (system maintenance), JavaScript (web frontend or backend), Python (data processing), SQL or DB Query (data correlation)

Experience in security tools - Burp Suite, Tenable Nessus, Zap, Wireshark, SIEM, Kali Linux, CSPM, CWP, etc.

Experience in implementing anomaly detection, infrastructure monitoring, attack mitigations, and threat modeling

Experience in securing infrastructure and applications in Azure, AWS or GCP

Professional certification such as CEH and OSCP is a plus.
