Analyzes the clients business processes. Develops integrated data and process models, process flows, and logical data base designs, and transforms logical designs into physical designs. Designs, tests, implements, maintains and controls the organizations physical data bases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments. Provides technical guidance to team members and other staff.Essential Functions:- Participates in planning and facilitating joint client and staff meetings for information gathering and issue resolution for all phases of the data administration process, and provides in-depth consulting to client and data processing management and staff.- Analyzes and designs data and process models, logical data bases and physical data base definitions.- Designs, implements and maintains databases and database support tools.- Conducts performance and tuning reviews for improvements to large and complex databases.- Develops alternative solutions to complex and conflicting requirements for logical models and physical databases.- Participates in model integration and convergence activities.- Participates in the development, implementation, communication and maintenance of the corporate data architecture, and of data management standards and conventions.- Assists in the development of project estimates, plans, and timetables.- Provides technical support and training and acts as mentor to data administration team members.- Provides data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems).- Serves as team lead on small to medium projects.Basic Qualifications:Experience- Minimum five (5) years of experience in data and process analysis and modeling, logical and physical data base design, and/or physical database development, maintenance and management.Education- Bachelor's degree, OR four (4) years of experience in computer science or directly related field required.- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.License, Certification, Registration- N/A. Additional Requirements:- Familiarity of data analysis/data base design technologies and tools, excellent analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques.- Excellent analytical ability, consultative, communication and management skills, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively with clients, other data processing managers and staff.- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnerships environment.
