Job Details

JOB TITLE: Oncology Clinical DirectorThe Clinical Director will contribute to oncology development efforts to advance our pipelines and bring innovative treatments to patients. Oncology programs may span all phases of clinical development (pre-clinical onward). The Director will have responsibilities managing the entire cycle of clinical development, including: study design, implementation, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

Development, planning, execution, tracking and reporting of oncology programs:
  • Evaluating pre-clinical and translational data; creating early clinical development plans and Investigational New Drug applications
  • Developing clinical program strategies: evaluation of efficacy, PK/PD relationship, combination strategy, biomarker identification and analysis
  • Designing, monitoring and managing the conduct of clinical trials
  • Analyzing and summarizing the clinical findings from studies to support decisions regarding safety and efficacy
  • Leading and collaborating on NDAs, clinical study reports, and publications
Effective communication and coordination:
  • Closely collaborating with cross-functional groups including regulatory affairs, biostatistics, and manufacturing to manage clinical development projects
  • Regular and effective communication with internal and external partners to ensure stakeholders informed regarding progress of internal as well as competitors' studies
Oncology Expertise:
  • Serving as subject matter expert in oncology and provide team with relevant updates regarding scientific advancements in the field
  • Identifying and establish communication with highly qualified investigators who can participate in drug development trials
  • Facilitating collaborations with external researchers
  • Attending relevant scientific meetings to maintain up to date scientific knowledge in the oncology space
  • Authoring presentations and position papers; publish in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at internal and external meetings and conferences
Remote work is available for this position. Travel on company business may be required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirements:
  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Board certified or eligible in oncology and/or immunology
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical medicine experience post fellowship
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in industry in drug development or academic biomedical research
  • Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and publication
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate across functional areas and geographic boundaries
Preferred Additional Experience and Skills:
  • Expertise in in vivo pharmacology and experience with oncology animal models
  • Expertise in biomarker development
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer relationship management
