Looking to fill 1 to 2 experienced lead server positions for French Rotisserie Cafe, a popular French Parisian Style Bistro located in Palm Desert, CA. Hours would include Dinner service starting at 3:00 to 4:00pm until 10:00 to 11:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday with potential to open Sundays and lunch as the season progresses. It is important to us that our employees take pride in their work offering memorable and hospitable experiences to our guests.

We have a high percentage of return guests/regulars as well as growing popularity through word of mouth referrals, whom all are seeking the consistency and quality of service and food that we provide in a comfortable and casual yet elegant experience. We are dedicated to taking care of our staff and guests by going above and beyond official government guidelines to provide the safest work environment possible during COVID-19.

Server Position Job requirements:

Minimum 2 years restaurant service experience with a proven, stable work history in similar level of restaurants

Able to learn and understand French Cuisine in the context of our menu, and further explain and guide customers through each dish/option (bonus if you speak/ understand French)

Base knowledge of Wines, Beers and spirits as well as pairing beverage with food (obvious differences in White wine pairings vs Red wine pairings) and working with Owners to manage inventory/bottles/ and wines by the glass to handle at ideal temperatures and quality control

Be able to safely and confidently handle/ plates/ bus bins/ glass trays and lift up to 25-50 pounds including setting up/breaking down tables/chairs/ heaters/ cases of wine etc at the beginning and end of each shift

Must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time, handling a fast paced, high volume and slightly larger dining area/patio space

Min age 21+ and Food Handlers Certificate as well as Negative COVID-19 test

Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required. All new hires are required to have availability Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day & New Year’s Eve.

Personality/Necessary Skills: creative, ambitious, and passionate about food, excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated, possess excellent time management, sense of urgency, prioritization, and multitasking skills. Willing to perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment and maintain clean service areas

Guest Experience: Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with guests and dealing with potential guest complaints/concerns. Ability to monitor and anticipate guest’s needs, adapt accordingly to provide an enjoyable experience.

o Prepare the final bill, presenting the check to guests, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).

o Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers/team members as situations arise. Help bussing/cleaning tables, returning dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware carefully to the appropriate area.

o Be flexible and adapt to fill in any role as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient service of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
