Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY

Manages all warehouse activities. Manages the warehouse ensuring the receipt, coordination and safety of goods coming through a warehouse. Also ensures that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities. Supervises warehouse personnel.

POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Responsibilities:

Ensure quality standards and productivity standards are achieved with safety being a priority.

Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members

Accountable for supervisory functions of the shift/department assigned

Responsible for Warehouse productivity tracking, to meet customer schedules and maximize operational efficiency

Schedule warehouse team members to meet the demands of the facility

Allocate necessary space for stock rotation

Assist and maintain appropriate inventory levels and product loss control

Oversee shipping and receiving functions as applicable

Secure company assets

Assist with various transportation/warehouse duties related to DOT regulations, OSHA, fleet operations, and scheduling

Coach and lead the Warehouse team to increase productivity and provide high-quality customer service

Ensure completion and proper execution of work procedures

Ability to read and understand product codes

Manage within labor and OPEX budget

Other projects or duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

HS diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of warehouse supervision and inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong computer skills required, particularly with Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and inventory control systems.

Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and possess good follow-through and follow-up skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others in a positive and effective manner.

Experience with LTL/FTL and international carrier selection, document requirements, customs requirements, and service delivery audit.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a strong eye for detail.

Ability to communicate professionally via written and verbal with internal and external customer to understand needs and concerns.

High level of motivation and sense of urgency.

Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments and represent different points of view without long-term negative consequences.

Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

2. Mathematical: Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software and Work Aids, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

Computer, printer, UPS and FedEx software, forklift, clamp truck, tractor-trailer.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Forklift certification required.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance and the responsibilities of this job.

1. Standing, walking, bending, lifting, moving, talking, hearing, pushing, carrying, reaching, and grasping.

2. Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination; or part time concentrated attention and coordination.

3. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.

4. Medium to heavy work - exert up to 15 pounds of force continuously; and up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Work Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance and the responsibilities of this job.

Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to loud noise and dust. Occasional exposure to weather (moving trailers). Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required and provided by the company including: hair net, beard net, safety glasses, earplugs, and hard toe shoes.
