Girls Incorporated of the Central Coast is seeking a Program Facilitator for the High School programs. If you have a desire to work with girls 8 to 18 -years old, and provide and coordinate our leadership and mentoring programs, then this position is right for you!

Location: We are currently operating in East Salinas, N. Salinas, Seaside, Marina, Castroville, Watsonville, Aptos, Soledad, Greenfield, King City and Hollister/San Juan Bautista at nine high schools, eleven middle schools, and eleven elementary schools.

Duties:

Helps to plan and implement age-appropriate activities for girls ages 8 to 18 based on the developmental needs of the girls.

Helps to facilitate and implement Girls Inc. programs.

Helps to coordinate with school personnel to recruit participants for specified high school and middle school sites and programs.

Helps to recruit participants for specified school sites and programs.

Supervises participants and Youth Leaders during program activities and field trips on weekdays and weekends.

Assists in supervision of Youth Leaders and ensures that Youth Leaders communicate with participants.

Assist girls in resolving conflict.

Encourage Youth Leaders to be creative and innovative and inspires and motivates them to explore new and different approaches and resources to keep programs flexible and responsive so that the needs of participants are met most effectively.

Helps to maintain positive relations with all related constituents including girls, guardians, volunteers, and other program staff.

Communicates and coordinates activities with Program Coordinator and Deputy Director.

Attends regular staff development, team meetings and trainings.

Assists with leading staff meetings, trainings and preparing agenda’s, materials, rooms and food.

Works as a team member with Program Coordinator, Deputy Director and other Program Staff.

May act as liaison between the organization and parents of participants.

Participates in set-up, clean-up and decoration of site.

Registers new members.

Take payments for current members.

Keeps up to date with participant rosters/information and attendance records including database, session evaluations, albums, and helps prepare program reports.

Assists in the implementation and production of special events.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skilled in implementing multi-faceted programming

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability in working with diverse populations

Ability to foster cooperation and work as a member of a team

Ability and skill in motivating girls to achieve their goals

Ability to demonstrate an understanding of and belief in GICC’s philosophy of youth

leadership

Experience working with diverse populations/groups

Demonstrated experience in youth development.

Knowledge in a variety of subject matters, such as science, math, technology, sports, leadership and economics.

Strong communication skills in working with groups and individuals.

Well-honed organizational skills with attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal, public relations and oral/written communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.25 per hour
