Asset Manager

The OrganizationCamino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a network of charter schools serving students across the PK-Post Secondary continuum in the Greater MacArthur Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Pueblo Nuevo Education Development Group (PNEDG) is CNCA's resource development and capacity building arm. PNEDG invests in young people to foster personal transformation and generational social change. PNEDG staff support and build capacity for CNCA schools in achieving their vision. The organizations are grounded in the beliefs that public education is a civil right and all students deserve an excellent education that will prepare them for success in life. At CNCA/PNEDG, we recognize that lower income and immigrant communities often face institutional and cultural barriers that create impediments to students success, and that an excellent education must eliminate these barriers. We integrate a strong focus on progressive, research-based academics with a holistic, place-based approach to serving our students. Since opening its doors in 2001, CNCA has grown to 8 schools and nearly 3,500 students. Our goal is that by 2022, 2,000 CNCA graduates will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and worldview necessary to be literate, critical thinkers and independent problem solvers. As a result of this success, 90% will have been accepted to, 80% will have attended and 60% will have graduated from a 4-year college within 6 years.

Position: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

The OpportunityThe Asset Manager (AM) will be an integral part of the CNCA Information Technology Team. The Technology Asset Manager will leverage his/her experience and expertise in asset management to implement, deliver, and track technology assets at each school in the network. This position also maintains data integrity and ensures accurate inventory reporting.

ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Vision Setting Responsibilities
  • Serve as an integral part of the Technology Support Team and the Operations and Systems Team.
  • At the direction of the Director of Technology, the AM participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the CNCA infrastructure.
  • The AM will assist the IT team and school staff with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of on-going projects
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plan for the ongoing success of the Technology Support Team
  • Collaborate in the development of structures and processes to increase the level of excellence across in the CNCA technology services
  • Leading school annual technology audit analysis to ensure proactive procurement, replacement, and upgrading of staff and student technology to adhere to programmatic needs
  • Support the Director of Technology in short- and long-term technology asset needs to ensure the success of the CNCA vision and mission
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of each school's inventory of assets on a regular basis.
Administrative Management and Compliance Responsibilities
  • Designing, executing, and monitoring compliance with the CNCA Asset and Inventory control and Management Policies, procedures, and processes
  • Overseeing contract negotiation, contract renewals, vendor management activities and collaboration to assist in cost-efficient and timely delivery to schools
  • Researching and processing school and home office requests for purchases, deployment, and recycling of equipment
  • Coordinating the transfer of assets between locations in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, regulations, and board policies
  • Tracking asset lifecycle (procurement, compliance, service improvements, usage, and disposal) of network technology assets
  • Providing regular reporting to schools and district office of IT asset capital, expense budgets, and purchasing effectiveness
  • Configures, updates, and manages the CNCA technology hardware assets program for planning, purchasing and support strategies.
  • Support the Technology Support Team in the daily triage of service requests submitted by schools and provide technical expertise as required to facilitate school demands.
  • Effectively communicate on project responsibilities orally and in writing to aid in planning and execution of programs within operations teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience
  • Bachelor Degree necessary; master degree or higher preferred
  • At least 3-5 years experience in IT Support / Management
  • Experience or commitment to working on a team as well as working across teams
