Test Technician III

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Able to read schematics and perform circuit analysis to troubleshoot failed board assemblies down to the components level.

Able to use simple and complex test equipment to perform functional test and/or troubleshoot failed units.

Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

Moderate computer skills.

Hands-on experience with ISO standards.

Able to write a Request for Engineering Review (RER) when a problem is found.

Ability to communicate and work effectively as an individual contributor and as a member of a functional team.

Ability to read, and interpret the following documents: Travelers, Assembly Drawings, List of Materials (LM), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Job Change Request (JCR) and Inspection Test Instructions / ITI’s.

Depending on specific daily task assigned this position requires a technician to spend long periods of time sitting, standing and/or multi-tasking moving/operating multiple test station within a designated area.

Able to lift and transport objects that weigh up to 20 pounds, (boxes of units and test fixtures, etc…).

Primary Responsibilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Utilizing standard test equipment performs functional acceptance test of circuit board assemblies and systems following predefined test procedures.

Under minimum to no supervision, setup and utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency counters and digital multi-meters to perform functional test and or diagnose failed units.

Recognizes failures and set-up problems and takes appropriate action to solve the problem.

Ability to train and give technical support to lower level test technicians.

Interface with Engineering and Quality Assurance departments.

It’s important that applicants have a solid understanding of operational amplifiers, logic gates, and transistors used as amplifiers (voltage divider circuits).
