DescriptionLA based communications company, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant.This position is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations and works closely with the Human Resources Manager. The HR assistant must interact with applicants, employees, visitors, and business contacts in a professional manner while providing exemplary customer service. The HR assistant will establish and maintain positive working relationships and perform their duties with honesty and integrity while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with local state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.Job Duties: Upholds the HR department with the highest level of security and confidentiality Greet and provide customer service to internal and external customers Perform activities including assisting with recruitment, setting up interviews, and gathering all relevant information associated with pre-employment. Responsible for processing employee data within the HRIS, which may include on-boarding, employee personal information, FMLA, status changes, benefits, payroll assistance, and termination Assist with generating required compliance reports New hire orientations Review and perform quarterly I-9 audits Assist with Company newsletter Update and prepare HR related documents Prepare and distribute correspondence related to Human Resources as approved Assist employees with questions relating to benefits and policies Produce benefit related reconciliations Assist in gathering information for unemployment hearings Assist with the set-up and maintenance of any newly acquired HR technology Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to meet company needs.RequirementsRequired Skills and Qualifications: Administrative skill set including but not limited to: creating on-boarding documents, compiling Excel spreadsheets, scheduling, processing background checks, maintaining records, etc. Excellent customer service and ability to handle tricky situations under pressure. Ability to work independently with general supervision Working knowledge of employment law is critical A high degree of discretion is required as you will have access to and deal with extremely confidential information. Candidates should have at least 3 years of HR experience.
