Responsibilities

Under thesupervision, serve as a research assistant supporting research studies toaddress optimal fuels for the brain after traumatic brain injury.

The LaboratoryAssistant will specifically work on aim 2 of the NIH grant on alternativesubstrates. This aim involves micro dialysis and use of GC massspectroscopy to determine whether lactate pyruvate ratio can be used as aclinical marker for brain metabolic status.

Full-time,limited position. May convert to career.

Qualifications

PC (or Mac) skills

Strong organizational skills and flexibility in responding to rapidly changing priorities and exceptionally diverse demands through constant interruptions in a fast-paced office

Ability to learn new software programs

Excellent verbal and written English skills

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with and sustain cooperative working relationships with faculty and staff

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy

Ability to learn rapidly and follow through tasks with details

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

General knowledge of UCLA forms, policies and procedures
