Role The Splunk Ideas and Roadmaps team is looking for an Operations & Data Engineer, who will be responsible for using Splunk and other tools to tackle our data and process problems that impact our Customers, Sales, GTM, Product and Engineering teams. In some cases, this role will be instrumental to develop new tools/solutions to support our customers and our internal teams.Splunk Ideas (ideas.splunk.com) is our mechanism to receive product feedback from customers that we use to influence the product roadmap to deliver on customer and sales requests. We use the data from Splunk Ideas and other internal systems to help product managers prioritize the ideas from customers. In addition, we also use data and tools to facilitate the entire process from idea submission to roadmap prioritization and finally to delivery back to our customers.The ideal candidate for this role is one who demonstrates the following characteristics: Someone who aspires to be a technical leader. Someone who takes initiative to understand and empathize with stakeholder/customer challenges and proactively proposes multiple solutions.ResponsibilitiesOwn development of all data insights and solutions for Splunk Ideas & Roadmap initiatives

Design and develop solutions using Splunk and other related technology to automate or streamline manual efforts and improve existing processes

Leading cross functional and technical projects with other organizations (i.e. IT Engineering, Ops), to build tools and processes that support Splunk Ideas & Roadmap initiatives

Analyze our current solutions to find opportunities to simplify and optimize, as well as quantify the impact and effort required, then lead subsequent refactoring efforts.

Author and maintain documentation for our technical infrastructure

Required Skills / Qualifications2-3 years experience working with product, engineering, sales or customer support teams in a technical capacity

3 years of experience with Javascript, HTML, Python, SQL

Proficiency using Splunk (getting data in, writing SPL queries, building dashboards, etc), Jira and working with APIs through terminal/back-end methods

Strong organizational, communication and presentation abilities

Analytical thinker, problem solver with high attention and focus on details

Experience handling risks and mitigating roadblocks

Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical role.
