Job Details

We are seeking a Product Designer to join our dynamic and growing marketing team. Our ideal candidate caresdeeply about designing consumer-centric digital products; is driven by an intense curiosity, and thrives in a highlyiterative and collaborative environment. In this position, you'll help define the product UI design for a range of ourproducts across the screens, formats, and technologies used by millions of our hosts and guests each year. You'llhave the opportunity to work cross-functionally with product and technology to create beautifully crafted digitalexperiences, products, and product features. The Product Designer role is based in Los Angeles, and reports to theDesign Director.

Core Capabilities:

  • You're able to synthesize complex UX problems and deliver highly refined UI design solutions.
  • You're never satisfied with the first idea, and work iteratively on concepts, prototypes, and detailed UI
informed by user research, marketplace and behavior trends, and your best ideas.
  • You understand that a given design solution may work well on mobile web but not within native apps, and
are well versed in the specific capabilities and constraints of each platform.

Must-Have Capabilities:

  • Communication - You are a clear, succinct and precise communicator (verbal and written) in 1:1
interactions, when working in teams, and in front of larger audiences. Your communications provide criticalcontext, increase transparency, and elevate mindsets.
  • Critical thinking - You understand how to use (and not use) data to inform your decision-making. You can
come up with effective plans to achieve your objectives. No matter what role you have, you can imagine abetter future and define a clear path to get there that overcomes complexity, barriers and constraints.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Design highly refined, consumer-centric UI solutions based upon product strategy and customer insights.
  • Effectively communicate your ideas and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
  • Apply industry knowledge, user-insights, data and analytics, and best practices to inform design decisions.
  • Obsess on the details and getting it right.
  • Experience designing across multiple screen types (Desktop, Mobile Web, native apps, etc.)
  • A self-starter who craves a fast-paced, high-integrity, low hand-holding environment (you'll always be
supported when needed)
  • A natural collaborator who feels at home within interdisciplinary teams tasked with creating great products.
  • Inspire customers and teammates by consistently raising the design bar.
  • Expert level knowledge of design software and prototyping tools.
  • Fluency in graphic design, typography, and photography.
  • BFA/BA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in consumer-centric Product UI Design
