Looking for a Part Time Architectural Site Surveyor / Job Captain

A West Coast A&E firm currently expanding its presence in Los Angeles is looking for Part Time Job Captain / Site Surveyor to join our growing team! Initial assignments will be assist us with our growing Portfolio of Community College / K- 12 work. The initial task will be 32 to 40 hour/week need for 4 to 6 weeks to assist our team with an existing conditions survey of six community college campuses. After that time, we anticipate that this assignment will evolve into a part-time 20-hour week assignment of WFH BIM / Revit support to our K- 12 team. Hours may change based on Client requirements, please note that this assignment has the potential to become a full-time position for individuals that demonstrate exceptional job performance.

If you have 3+ years of design experience in the architectural services industry, let's talk about the next steps in your architectural career. The right person will have the qualities below:

Ability to create CD level drawings within REVIT (a test will be administered).

Need to be able to physically access the project sites the Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley Area (note, these campuses will be shut down for the balance of 2020 and early 2021 to ensure safe social distancing)

Be proficient in the use of iOS and Google Docs based survey-based tools (e.g. using an iPad or iPhone to photograph, document and upload information.

Be able to cover about 45,000sf of facilities in a day during the survey process

Understanding of building systems, constructability, code, and detailing.

Construction documents, permitting, submittals experience preferred.

Understand client needs and maintaining positive client relationships.

Highly organized and can follow critical deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel, Outlook).

Solid communication skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and work in a team environment.

Desire to advance and grow.

With the ongoing pandemic, we anticipate that this will have a large WFH assignment per our internal and Client policies for the remainder of 2020 and possibly early 2021. Candidates who demonstrate that they are well set up for this role and can remain responsive and engaged with remote teams are strongly preferred.
