Technical Expert, Civil Engineer
California, Los angeles, 90001 Los angeles USAHaley & Aldrich, Inc. has multiple openings for multiple positions including Technical Expert, Civil Engineer for WFH opportunity reporting to Costa Mesa, CA office.
Responsibilities: The Technical Expert, Civil Engineer will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams, nationwide company offices, and client/project locations on the application of quantitative methods towards groundwater and surface water modeling. Identify, pursue, and lead applied research projects particularly focusing on groundwater resources, emerging contaminants, and climate change. Assist project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as related to preparing groundwater modeling, applied research, and advanced analytics methods to support site characterization, remediation, and water supply consulting. Prepare proposals, project technical reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions. Coordinate with client representatives, regulatory, and external stakeholders. Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to our office in Costa Mesa, California.
Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 6 years of experience in the job offered or related position. Other special requirements include: 6 years of experience developing models for civil engineering projects, including groundwater modeling, hydrogeologic conceptual model development, geostatistical modeling, seawater intrusion modeling, chloride flow, transport evaluation, groundwater resources modeling, incorporation of climate change datasets, and related civil engineering modeling projects; 6 years of experience preparing applied research and reporting for remediation of contaminated sites, interpretation of site geologic; hydraulic, and hydrogeologic data, including interpretation of subsurface heterogeneity; and 6 years of experience applying Geographic Information Systems, spatial data processing, and working with high-speed programming languages such as Matlab or FORTRAN. Must possess a valid California P.E. (Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists) License.
Pay Range: $132,000 - $162,000
