Trend & Cost of Care Analytics)This position may be filled at any Anthem locationThe Business Information Analyst Senior (Pharmacy
Pricing, Trend and Cost of Care Analytics) is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, reporting and developing
recommendations on data related to Pharmacy cost of care, pharmacy trends,
pricing analysis and other Medicaid book of business related issues/metrics.Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:Ability to pull and analyze data
to support cost of care, trend and pricing analytics.
Develops and analyzes business
performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and
provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
Creates and publishes periodic
reports, as well as any necessary ad-hoc reports.
May require taking business issue
and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data
that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
May make recommendations based upon data analysis.
Ability to explain analyses to
the requestor of the information.
Assist in preparing presentation
materials
Assists with the pricing of bids
for new markets, supports all renewal market pricing and supports merger and
acquisition activities.
Supports a variety of pricing
requests including a detailed breakdown of pricing performance by market and by
product in support of account management.
Comparing actual vs forecasted
pricing performance; create and maintain databases used to track market and
product pricing performance used to evaluate opportunities leading to better
performance and potential cost saving initiatives.
QualificationsRequires a BS/BA degree in
related field;
3-5 years data analysis or
related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would
provide an equivalent background.
Requires experience manipulating
and processing datasets with proficiency in SQL and/or SAS, Access, and Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational
and problem solving skills.
Pharmacy or healthcare industry
experience preferred
Medicaid experience is preferred
Pricing experience is preferred
This job is focused on complex
and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff as
compared to the Business Information Analyst II job.
