Office assistant for tax & accounting firm

Compensation: Based on experience

Employment type: Full-Time Temporary (with possible permanent position)

We are a Tax, Accounting and Payroll firm looking for a professional individual who excels at multitasking and has strong interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to think logically, self-direct, effectively organize and prioritize.

Position hours are:

Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

One to two late evenings per week (until 6pm)

And at least every other Saturday 8am-2pm

Job duties include (but are not limited to):

Greet clients in person, field both emails and telephone calls: all of which with a positive and helpful attitude.

Responsible for supporting other staff members in various ways such as; filing, photocopying, scanning, reviewing, transcribing and faxing.

Assemble tax returns & source documents

Data entry support for tax, accounting and payroll departments as needed

Primary contact for administrative request from clients

Maintain calendars, set up/edit tax appointments

Invoice and receive payments from clients

Knowledge of Outlook, Excel, QuickBooks and Word preferable

Applicant must be punctual, reliable and able to multitask. You should also have a good work

ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to learn quickly and work independently once trained.

Our office is not currently taking in-person appointments but clients will be entering the office to pick-up, drop-off and sign documents. Additionally, you must be willing to follow strict Covid-19 protocols and safety practices to ensure the safety and health of fellow staff members and as well as our clients.

Lastly, depending on your performance, this position may transition into a permanent position with increased pay and benefits available.
