Nevada County is seeking Senior Accounting Assistant for its Accounting team. This is an advanced-level position where individuals perform complex accounting and data entry in the processing and maintenance of financial, statistical and tax records.

Other vital duties include:

Perform adjustments necessary to maintain accurate records and to balance accounts.

Maintain departmental budget and detailed supporting documentation.

Prepare and process sophisticated accounts payable and receivable including research and review.

Compile expenditures and cost allocations for distribution to and for a variety of county, state and federal financial reports.

Handle money transactions such as collecting, disbursing and depositing monies and other negotiable items.

Compile departmental payroll and personnel actions for processing.

This position is crafted for individuals who have graduated from high school and two years of experience performing duties comparable to those of Nevada County's classification of Accounting Assistant II .No college degree is required but if you have taken a few courses in accounting or a related field, that's a plus!
