Striping and Seal Coating Foreman are skilled leaders in our organization who balance supervisory roles, advanced critical trade application skills and project management basics.

A Foreman must possess all of the stated capabilities of the crew member in regards to cleaning, trade application and standards of quality, safety and equipment knowledge, while also demonstrating higher level leadership skills, problem solving and advanced trade application techniques and skills.

Advanced knowledge of equipment including but not limited to: line stripers, hot applied crack seal machines, hydraulic seal coating applicators (spray and squeegee), grinders and power sweepers. Knowledge of trouble shooting and basic mechanics is very important. Knowledge of tools including shovels, jackhammers, hand saws, and many others is required.

Demonstrated capability to manage construction projects using logic and problem solving

Communicates effectively

Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to engage and develop crew members

Striping Foreman – advanced knowledge of layout and plan reading; thermoplastic and road striping expertise preferred.

Knowledge, use and enforcement of proper construction PPE is a must!

Valid and insurable drivers license mandatory, Class A CDL a PLUS and comes with extra compensation.

Hours for this position vary from overnight to full days, many times 12 hours or 6 or more consecutive work days. This job requires flexibility and commitment to be on time and work at any time the jobs are needed to get done. This position often requires a large amount of travel, and the ability to be out of town for up to 2 weeks at a time.

Duties of a Striping/Seal Coating Foreman are:

Determine solutions to any potential issues by pre-planning as per our procedures and working out solutions with Operations Manager

Checks that equipment is ready and working before leaving the shop

Training team members on jobsites

Attends weekly Operations Meetings

Reviewing the project to make sure they have the paperwork, trucks, equipment, materials and personnel they need to complete the project. If any of these are insufficient, this should be resolved in the Operations Meeting on Mondays.

Loading for the job, and arriving to the jobsite on time. If the crew is going to be late for any reason, the foreman is to contact the client ahead of time and let them know. The onsite time will be listed in the company wide schedule.

Meeting with the client once onsite, going over the scope of work and proactively addressing any potential issues. If there is any issues that arise, the Foreman should communicate to the Operations Manager assigned to oversee the project and/or the Project Manager to get the issues resolved.

Completing quality work onsite, efficiently.

Attendance and punctuality mandatory

Jobsite Safety

Post job walkthroughs before leaving site to spot any deficiencies in the work.

Receiving the WOCR sign off from the client (Should be completed during the post job walkthrough)

Communicating Proper Job Status to Dispatch

Completing required paperwork and photos of the project.

Proper unloading procedures daily.

Communicating equipment issues per procedure

Out of town status updates by 9 AM daily.
