MemorialCare's IS trainers are responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of our workforce. They ensure that our workforce can meet its current and future business objectives and deliver quality services that meet our customers needs. They develop and facilitate training strategies and plan initiatives working with clinical, patient access, financial system, or Analytics/Business Intelligence groups. The IS Training Specialist provides the technical training expertise on the team to troubleshoot complex system issues towards resolution. They are responsible for advising and developing course curriculum as well as providing direction for creation and storage of supporting training materials. They work closely with the other Trainers, Application team members, and technical counterparts to ensure training build and supporting materials are always readily accessible and operational in our training environments. As an intermediary between the Sr. IS Trainer and the Lead IS Trainer, they work closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and team members on all aspects of the EMR program to assure project deadlines are met and that all training reflects operational workflows, policies and procedures. As functional experts they spearhead training testing validation sessions for potential application build modifications, upgrades, or additional implementation of new technology.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
  • Provide expertise in identification of KPIs and its technical extraction from systems
  • Support the training team and acts as a point of escalation related to technical issues and questions
  • Participate in assigned integration work groups to provide workflow observations and recommendations
  • Mentor new IS Training team members to achieve maximum technical competencies and overall MemorialCare training process awareness
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of education tool
  • Determine approaches and appropriate training methodologies for new functionally/workflows based on predetermined learning needs and objectives
  • Develop instructor-led training and web-based training curriculum
  • Conduct training programs for end users
  • Assist in the personalization of systems
  • Maintain expertise and competence in the assigned software applications
  • Maintain appropriate instructor manuals, training materials, and job aids
  • Develop and implement Train the Trainer programs

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years instructor led training experience, instructional design and development of web-based and e-learning
  • Minimum 5 years relevant software experience or Analytics/Business Intelligence experience
  • Minimum 5 years successful project management experience
  • Epic Master train environment (MST) build experience when working with Epic as the primary supported system
  • Previous experience with a systems/technology implementation, focusing on training, software adoption and change management techniques.
  • Demonstrated solid analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to identify issues, prioritize and problem solve through to resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships throughout the IS department and across all levels of the MemorialCare organization
  • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning and implementing process changes
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical ability to assess situations and choose effective solutions
  • Demonstrated ability with content development, build and refinement in assigned areas of training responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in adult learning theory, motivation, and development. Experienced in instructional education, training, and/or customer service preferred
  • Experienced with technical training development, eLearning development tools, and learning management systems preferred.
  • Proven competence in leading projects; evidence of progress in project management assignments.
  • Past success working independently as well as in a team situation while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products required

Education
  • Bachelor s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred
  • Obtained RN license for clinical trainers leading hospital-based training preferred
  • Epic Certification in one or more modules (NVT) required when working with Epic as the primary supported system
