Client's Digital Video IT Org is looking for experienced

Principal Systems Engineer that will be responsible for the strategy, planning and implementation of our Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure. In this role you will provide both technical and collaboration leadership with multiple stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing technical standards, guidance and coaching to teams working to deliver strategic technology goals leveraging various Enterprise Cloud Services. You will work with Product and various people and teams within Technical Leadership to create roadmaps and set delivery expectation. As a hands-on Technical Leader, you will architect and implement high-quality Hybrid Cloud Solutions that are secure, easy to operate and maintain, and decrease our support.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the implementation of client's Digital Video IT Org's cloud strategy for migration to AWS and Azure
  • Drive the implementation of AWS Platform build out based on client's Digital Video IT Org's cloud strategy and design
  • Provide architecture guidance in applications migration techniques to the cloud, lift & shift, Re-architect, Re-platform etc.
  • Work cross-functionally and identify the right cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the business.
  • Regularly evaluate cloud architecture, applications, services, and software as well as create and implement Proof of Concept (POC)
  • Work closely with Client Chief Security Office (CSO) Teams to plan and implement Client's ASTRA/ASPR Cloud Security and Compliance policies and procedures
  • Design, develop, and implement DevOps and automated CI/CD processes
  • Provide systems expertise across the organization for addressing engineering and operational issues
  • Regularly evaluate and recommend emerging cloud applications and services, and software to improve service, reduce cost, and scale better
  • Create and apply reusable assets to consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • Review the cloud architectures with the client's IT Org stakeholders and domain architects.

Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, foreign equivalent, or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Experience in AWS foundational capabilities implementation (AWS Account management, Network Design, Security, Governance, DevOps, Operational Management, Logging and Monitoring, High Availability, Disaster and Recovery).
  • Strong Experience with building Cloud Native Applications on AWS/Azure Stack
  • Windows/Linux/UNIX fundamentals including TCP/IP networking
  • Public Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) including security, compliance, and automation
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools CFT/Terraform, Ansible
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps/CICD tools such as, Git, Jenkins, etc.
  • Application security understanding (Code Scanning, CICD integration)
  • Network architecture experience with IP networking, VPN, DNS, Load Balancing, DHCP, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP
  • Understanding of database Technologies (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Cassandra, Couchbase, DynamoDB, AWS RDS)
  • Experience with one or more Programming and scripting languages (Java, Python, C#, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Strong understanding of microservices and container technologies (Docker), and Container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Fargate)
  • Experience designing HTTP+JSON APIs
  • Experience with monitoring or observability tools, System performance tuning and optimization
  • Basic knowledge of firewall and other security components is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications -
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8-10 years related technical architect experience
  • Proficient in engineering cost estimates and economic analyses and models
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies standards and protocols (3GPP, Wi-Fi, WiMax, antennas, amplifiers, base stations, propagation, interference, spectrum)
  • Proficient in voice, video, and app technologies/protocols (circuit, VoIP, SIP, IMS, AIN, Camel, etc.)
  • Proficient in network and system architecture (subsystems, interfaces, hw/sw dependencies).
  • Proficient in message and conference systems and networks (multiple media, notification, presence, unified communications, video).
  • Knowledge in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP network Address Management, Perf, Mgmt).
  • Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Delivery Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).
  • Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.

Desired Qualifications -
  • Enterprise wide deployment planning and support for mission critical applications for major releases, both business and infrastructure related
  • Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
  • Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
