Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Windows System Administrator for their Advanced Information Technology (AIT) Team located in Seal Beach, CA. As a Windows System Administrator, you will be part of an amazing, collaborative team working on proprietary programs and managing secure, world-class computing and storage services to support a proprietary customers. As a highly productive, talented, self-motivated, and creative member of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, you will work with multiple engineering and support groups, on both ongoing operational efforts and exciting future projects for a highly valued, dynamic program. This position will be responsible for assisting in managing and maintaining various Windows-based Server & Desktop Operating Systems located in the program area. This position requires the individual be able to investigate, analyze and resolve Windows-based Server & Desktop problems. The position will require frequent interaction with customers, subcontractors, and teammates in support of Program Mission Operations. As a member of our diverse, highly-adaptive, and highly-valued System Administration Team, you will work closely with other System Administrators, Communications Engineers, Information Assurance Engineers, Cybersecurity professionals, Systems Engineers, and Operations specialists who are passionate about providing top-quality, secure computing and storage services to a variety of developers and data scientists across the United States of America.This exciting Windows System Administrator position requires demonstrated experience in the Windows OS environment and system administration, a diverse background in cybersecurity & Risk Management Framework, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of multiple Windows System Administration projects. Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required.Position Responsibilities:- Administer and manage Program Windows-based Infrastructure
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot program baseline Desktops and Workstations
- Knowledge to set up and maintain SCCM, WSUS, and other Windows COTS applications
- Perform system and user account maintenance
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot program baseline applications and software
- Test and assess security configurations of Windows-based systems
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve operating system conflicts
- Analyze, test, and implement security patches and hardening according to advanced computer security directives (e.g., Risk Management Framework (RMF))
- Perform maintenance data collection on the Program Infrastructure
- Develop disaster recovery procedures
- Develop and update documentation for maintenance, processes, and technical guides
- Use creative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills across a broad domain of software development activities
- Apply a logical approach in solving challenging problems
- Use excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work both independently and within a team environment
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Current/Active CompTIA Security+ Certification (e.g., DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification or higher). (Note: Active certification would need to be obtained prior to establishing a start date.)
- 1+ years of experience with administration of Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Windows Server operating Systems, Storage & Backup infrastructure
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Solution implementation for Advanced Computer Security Directives and Requirements (e.g., Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIG's)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
