Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Satellite Software Mission Product organization is seeking a Associate Software Engineer to join our team located in El Segundo, CA additional locations Seal Beach, CA and Chantilly, VA.Our team creates the software tools and services for the world's highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with space customers in the development of the next generation ground systems for all types of space systems. Our program is organized by Integrated product teams working together to launch a rapidly integrated satellite/ground system.Position Responsibilities- Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
- Develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
- Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, implement the test procedures and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
- Serves as a domain expert for the spacecraft command and control software domain, related industry standards, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 2 or more years of experience working with Unix/Linux distributions using command line terminals and GUI based desktop environments.
- 2 or more years of software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and/or automated DevOps processes/tools.
- Experience in Java and/or C.
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Experience using team collaboration tools including ClearQuest / ClearCase, Git, JIRA Agile, and Confluence
- Experience using SonarQube and/or Coverity to instrument, trend and manage code quality
- Familiarity with Spacecraft Command & Control, Flight Dynamics and/or Mission Operations software support tools
