Registered Dental Hygienist

Our amazing dental team at Yellowstone Family Dentistry in Chico has an opening for a Full Time Registered Dental Hygienist at our Family owned Private Practice (Hours are Monday-Thursday 8am to 5pm). We are seeking a team member who is patient-centered, professional, and caring - someone who is willing to create great relationships with our patients and is comfortable with treatment presentation. The ideal candidate is a hygienist who is a team player committed to providing the highest level of treatment to every patient. If you have a steady hand and great bedside manner and a great sense of humor, we’d like to meet you. A good sense of humor is also a must!

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination

Sterilize dental instruments properly

Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history

Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontal disease

Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)

Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)

Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures

Take X-rays

Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)

Maintain documentation and charts on each patient

Monitor supplies

Skills

1 year Hygiene experience preferred, but not necessary. New hygiene graduates may apply.

Current CPR certification

In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)

Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment

Outstanding communication skills

A patient and friendly personality

Attention to detail

Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job

Diploma in Dental Hygiene

Valid licence to practice (you may apply if in process)

Pay $47+ per hour based on experience. Benefits for Full Time Employees include Health Insurance Stipend, 6 paid Holidays, paid time off, 401K, Sick time, annual Costco membership and $1500 in office Dental Care per year.
