Logistics Coordinator

Description Robert Half is working with a distributing company here in Carlsbad that is in need of a Logistics Coordinator!The ideal candidate would be a highly skilled self-starter that enjoys multi-tasking.If you're a driven individual that enjoys taking initiative, this position may be a great fit for you! Responsibilities will include:Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers

Respond to and resolve complaints and problems

Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them

Coordinate shipments for delivery, including managing necessary personnel, to maximize efficiency and profitability

Promptly resolve shipment issues as they arise

Process freight claims and billing

Requirements

Must have 3 to 5 years of consumer goods industry experience

Good coordination and organizational abilities

Excellent communication and people skills

Familiar with laws, regulations and ISO requirements as they apply to logistics

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Negotiation abilities

Customer service-oriented

Organizational expertise

Good working knowledge of the consumer goods industry

Creative thinking skills

Excellent problem-solving skills
