Description The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation, including trials, with demonstrated excellence in dependability, pro-activity and the ability to work independently and within an assigned team. Duties and Responsibilities: Type, edit, and proo correspondence, including pleadings, letters, memoranda and other documents. Update and maintain databases (i.e., e-mail lists, I-Create info, client matter lists, matter lists). Interact with clients, visitors and attorneys/staff from other offices via phone, e-mail and in-person. Open new files, check conflicts of interest, and maintain all client and general files. Make appointments and travel arrangements; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system. E-File in state and federal court. Assist billing department in processing monthly client invoices. Maintain detail oriented appearance and attitude; maintain good public relations and customer service with clients; maintain confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Qualifications and Prior Experience: Must have 5+ years of litigation experience as a secretary/legal assistant, with a background in business litigation. Applicants without this experience will not be considered. Working knowledge and experience in e-filing in both state and federal court systems. Strong organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with management, staff and external entities including clients of the firm. Must be able to work independently, quickly and accurately with minimal supervision. Must be proficient in and have knowledge of relevant software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, and consistently produce high-quality work productEXPERIENCE: 3 to 10 YearsEDUCATION: Bachelors Requirements - e-Filing experienceWell-founded grasp of prooing
Command of federal court
Strong familiarity with state courts
Proven knowledge of prooing
Comprehensive knowledge of Civil Litigation
e-Filing experience highly desired
Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
Possess adequate knowledge and understanding of local jurisdictional and federal court rules and procedures
Should be knowledgeable of word processing and spreadsheets
Strong time management skills preferred
3+ years of prior relevant experience
Knowledgeable about and experienced with legal correspondence and court filing procedures is a plus
Proficiency in database management
