- Serving as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for the Emergency Communication Division to State, Local, Tribal, Territorial and Federal stakeholders on advanced communications and related information technology subjects.
- Recommending long-range plans, goals and objectives to improve incident response interoperable emergency communications capabilities in State Local and Tribal entities.
- Providing expert advice to senior specialist working in the emergency communications field.
- Communicating both orally and in writing to assure that State, Local and Tribal entities understand policy and are assisted in their efforts to increase the effectiveness of interoperbility communications.
- Developing and promoting new outreach approaches, methodologies, programs and other initiatives to influences policy making and planning in Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial governments; private sector partner critical infrastructure owner/operators; and non-governmental organizations.

- This position may be designated as essential personnel. - Coordinators have regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
- This position may require the incumbent to work an uncommon tour or maxi-flex schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime, compensatory time pay, and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This is a Key position and requires incumbent to be screened from military recall status. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver license.
- Remote duty location: This is a full-time telework position. There are no CISA Federal offices in the duty locations listed. Coordinators are required to work remotely from their homes within the local commuting area of the cities indicated in this announcement.
