Systems Network Administrator

Description Robert Half is representing a client in Tucson, Arizona who administers, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains local area network clients and local area network server operating systems, and the District enterprise e-mail application and hardware. Functions as a project lead on assigned projects. Provides assistance in resolving problems, setting policies, administrative procedures, and local area network security. This role will be onsite in Tucson, Arizona, and will be a contract-to-hire opportunity. Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews, analyzes, modifies, installs, and debugs operating and application systems

Consults with employees to insure efficient use of computer-related software

Plans, organizes, and administers database activities

Develop standards, data definitions, documentation and design of security protocols for vulnerable or sensitive data

Develops, installs and maintains a comprehensive back-up protocol of all electronic data

Provides technical software and hardware support to members of the Fire District

Guides employees in the use of new technologies

Establishes and maintains contact with vendors for software support and problem resolution

Functions as project lead, coordinating the technical implementation of assigned projects and the development and administration of end user training

Acts as a District representative and works collaboratively with others on assigned IT related projects affecting the District and/or other public safety agencies

Evaluates, and expands current network to insure efficient operations of PC’s

Ensures that IT-related information is well-organized and accessible

Performs advanced desktop troubleshooting to include hardware, software, security, malware, and virus issues

Responsible for documenting the Windows Server systems infrastructure

Responsible for maintaining an accurate hardware inventory and software licensing compliance

Responsible for establishing and maintaining user accounts, files, and rights

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe following list is provided as an example of the minimum knowledge expectation for the position of Systems Administrator LAN:Knowledge of hardware and technical software operations with an emphasis on Microsoft products

Ability to develop and maintain LAN operations

Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, and outside normal business hours as required

Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, with management and employees using the English language

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations

Ability to establish/maintain a strong working relationship with peers, supervisors, and others

Ability to drive a personal or District vehicle

Knowledge of and an ability to perform the principle duties and responsibilities cited for this position with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines

Ability to maintain confidentiality on the network information being processed, stored or accessed

Ability to independently work multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Ability to stay current on technologies affecting Windows systems infrastructure issues and investigate/implement new technologies

Minimum QualificationsBachelor Degree in Computer Science, or public sector related field, from an accredited college or university recognized by the US Department of Education or a combination of education, experience, and/or training sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the jobs, such as those listed above.

Current Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent experience, or the ability to obtain the certification and meet this requirement within one (1) year of the date of appointment to the position (as a condition of employment)

One (1) year experience as a System Administrator

Experience with Microsoft SQL Administration

Three (3) years experience with applied advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems

Three (3) years experience with responsibility in technical software and hardware systems management

Experience with Active Directory administration for Windows 2008R2/2016 systems

Eighteen (18) years of age or older

Must possess and maintain an Arizona driver’s license with good driving record

Preferred QualificationsPublic Safety and/or Public Sector work experience

MCSA: Core Infrastructure/Productivity

Cisco CCNA

Network +

Experience with Cisco routers and VoIP

Experience with Linux and Open Source software

Website creation and administration experience
