Mid Level Backend Java Software Engineer

A software product company on the west coast is hiring for multiple Java software engineers on a direct hire basis. They are leader in electronic documentation software solutions and are looking to bring on 2 Backend Java Engineers to join their existing team. They are looking to modernize some of their legacy applications and develop new features and enhancements on others. You'll be apart of a tight-knit group and responsible for software development of the next gen of their SaaS products (over 30 unique products) used by consumers and businesses nationwide. They operate in a sector that has remained stable for many years, but actually seen substantial growth during the pandemic due to the changing nature of business operations in numerous sectors. The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in Java software engineering, with a core focus in backend API development. Strong knowledge of core Java is required and knowledge of MySQL and/or MongoDB will be very helpful as well. The role is 100% BE development, but anyone with Angular 2+ experience would be a huge plus. They are open to someone working in a Full Stack capacity if they would like to, but only if there have the prior Angular experience. They constantly have rotating and customer-driven feature requests and are looking to expand the team to help with the new development projects that are on the horizon. • 3+ years of professional experience in software development
• Strong core Java skills, ideally version 8 or above
• Some knowledge of web frameworks
• API development (REST)
• Relational databases - SQL, MySQL (most preferred), Oracle etc.
• Structured software development methodologies - Scrum
• Strong Documentation skills
• Git, Subversion, or similar tool for source control
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• BS in CS/CE/EE or similar
• Prior work on commercial grade SaaS products
• Knowledge of front end, specifically Angular
• MongoDB or other non-relational data store
• Knowledge of modern tools and methods for QA and development operations
• Security - SSO and/or Federated Security
• Knowledge of mortgage and/or finance sector
