Job Title: RF Technician

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for an RF Technician to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility. The selected candidate will work with collaborative engineering teams to build and further advance our client's technologies. These programs provide a modernized suite of Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems to enable the mission of the war-fighter of today. These systems use similar technology to the cellular industry, but with a more robust and capable platform to support in theater operations. These systems push the state of the art well beyond that required by commercial cellular systems in both the broadband nature of our RF solutions and the RF performance across the frequency range.Do you want to be part of an engineering team supporting the next generation of communications for our warfighters? Do you want to be challenged day-in and day-out? If so, our client is seeking an entry level RF Engineering Technician demonstrating a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively develop and manage our client's equipment and processes. Must also be able to work various shifts (8 hour, 9 hour and/or 12 hour). The RF Engineering technician will work under the direction of a technical lead and be part of a design team, working in a lab environment conducting tests and aiding in the integration of the design at the board, module, and higher levels of product integration. The RF Engineering Technician will be a working member of the overall RF/Systems Engineering team on next generation secure communication products. In this role you will:test, analyze and repair our client's engineering, network and telecommunications technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact development and/or operations. This individual is also responsible for the planning,calibration, installation and maintenance of the organizations equipment, components, devices and systems.RF Engineering Test Technicians on our Engineering team may also be asked to develop test specifications and procedures and are sometimes tasked with report preparation and documentation of technical issues.

Qualifications: Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic qualifications include:
  • Experience working with RF test equipment up to 40 GHz. This includes vector signal network analyzers, communication signal analyzers and a variety of spectrum analyzers as well as high speed oscilloscopes.
  • Experience automating test process though software such as Labview.
  • The ability to control test equipment using Labview is very desirable although not a requirement.
  • Ability to develop test procedures, maintain test equipment integrity and generate test reports
  • Conduct tests and aide in the integration of board design, module, and higher levels of product integration
  • Experience working with large signal characterization of high power amplifiers including Pout, IIP2, IIP3, and P1dB compression point as well as load pulls of discrete devices and circuits. Thermal management of the test environment and experience working with cold plates as well as environmental chambers.
  • Applicant will work under the direction of a technical lead and be part of a design team experienced in modeling and characterizing board level circuit designs, packaging, antennas, and RF front-ends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering design
