Position Summary: We are seeking a Paralegal Adjunct Instructor to provide educational support for students enrolled across our schools, which include Penn Foster College, Ashworth College, and Distance Education Company. The instructor will ensure that students meet established learning objectives, while also supporting the growth and development of courses. The adjunct’s primary function is to evaluate and grade subjective assignments and projects, providing constructive, focused feedback. In addition, the adjunct is responsible for assisting students with program related questions through distance education technologies including, but not limited to, email, chat, SMS texts, one-on-on phone appointments, and webinars. This is an independent contractor position that is fully remote with flexible hours. Essential Job Functions:Objectively and accurately evaluate subjective exams against established grading keys and rubrics.

Provide clear, effective, and constructive feedback to students that helps them see what needs improvement, as well as what was done well.

Complete necessary steps to ensure that exam feedback is uploaded for students and grades are properly recorded.

Correspond with students as may be required by the exam evaluation.

Provide high quality, one-on-one academic support via phone, chat, email, SMS text, and appointment scheduler.

Participate in special grading projects as needed.

Participate in course reviews and rubric development as needed.

Respond to all emails within 24 hours during the week and within 48 hours on the weekend.

Participate in accreditation efforts as needed.

Participate in Professional Development policy requirements (12 hours per calendar year).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Must possess at least an associate degree in Paralegal Studies.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.

Prior paralegal experience.

Prior teaching experience preferred.

Online teaching or tutoring experience a plus.

Reliable internet and a personal computer/laptop operating on a Windows or MAC operating system.

Excellent computer skills.

Ability to work independently, think critically, and communicate effectively and efficiently.
