Your Opportunity

At Schwab, the CICS/Datacom/Mainframe Performance-Capacity team leads all aspects of the ongoing design, engineering, and maintenance of the mainframe CICS and Datacom subsystems. The team also includes technical members who support mainframe Performance and Capacity. We are looking for an experienced CICS/CPSM Systems Programmer to join this team.

What you are good at

  • Provide technical support for CICS/CPSM products, tasks and related projects
  • Implementation, maintenance and roll out of the software and related vendor products
  • Perform CICS/CPSM problem determination including off hours support
  • Function effectively within a small team and collaborate with other technology support organizations

What you have

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and/or proven experience working in a large mainframe environment
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with CICS/CPSM
  • Experience with installation and maintenance using SMPE
  • Strong CICS problem determination skills, including the use of IPCS
  • Extensive experience using and maintaining CICS vendor products, such as Omegamon, SYSVIEW, CODE1, and Fault Analyzer
  • Solid understanding of CICS/RDO and the CPSM/BAS interface
  • Experience with the CPSM WUI and deploying resources through CPSM/BAS
  • Experience with Explorer
  • Background and knowledge of IBM utilities (IEBGENER, NDM, IEBCOPY)
  • Basic understanding of UNIX System Services
  • Demonstrated organizational change and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support for production systems
  • Understanding of dynamic workload routing in CPSM; of COBOL, IBM assembler, REXX and be acquainted with Java, JSON and CICS Liberty are all a plus
