JOB TITLE: Lead Transformation/Agile

LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ

Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.

Role Summary:Helps to identify and/or shepherd new improvement opportunities of medium impact/size while boosting the probability of success for impact and capturing/realizing value of initiatives for a smaller site scope. Works with the other MIS leaders/team members, relevant executive and corporate leaders, site GMs and leaders, agile teams, product owners, SMEs, team members, etc. to frame the problem, scope the work, shape the solution, challenge the status quo, ask questions to drive innovative thinking and capture value. The Lead deeply understands the Agile values, lives the company Edge behaviors, fosters a high-performance culture in all they do and coaches and develops site/corporate leaders and agile teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with leadership, initiative product owners, scrum masters and teams to help problem solve the work, ask questions, guide the direction and create the quarterly plans; helps define the vision for the operating structure of the agile teams and initiatives
  • Shepherds new initiatives, innovative solutions, and new ways of working. Leverages the Transformation Office, MIS, FMMC and other organizations’ resources and service offerings to help solve and drive value across initiatives
  • Proactively and inclusively engages with teams to discuss and address issues with team dynamics, scope, sustainability as a routine problem-solving item
  • Assists leadership in setting an ambitious and clear vision; communicates ‘the story’ effectively and ensures the company Edge culture is embodied in all formal and informal interactions and communications
  • Learns and uses techniques and ways of working that increase collaboration, value capture, predictability, transparency and promotes a culture of experimentation and innovation; guides individuals and teams toward the most appropriate technique
  • Coaches Transformation / Agile team members (Apprentices, Facilitators and Coaches) to drive agile quality standards across agile teams using the TxO standard content and agile health checks
  • Connects with other Transformation / Agile Leads, corporate leaders, site leaders and product owners to share best practices across sites and functions, and is committed to coaching and developing these groups
  • Understands and manages expectations of sponsors and other key stakeholders in partnership with POs, Scrum Masters, TxO leaders, etc.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED AND eleven (11) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Operations, Operations Support, Engineering, Project Management, Professional Business settings including working on Agile initiatives, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND seven (7) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Operations, Operations Support, Engineering, Project Management, Professional Business settings including working on Agile initiatives, OR
  • Master’s Degree AND five (5) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Operations, Operations Support, Engineering, Project Management, Professional Business settings including working on Agile initiatives
  • Prior experience as a member of an agile team, preferably as Product Owner or Scrum Master
  • A demonstrated thorough understanding of Scrum and Agile principles, values, and practices
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders
  • Strong communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages / trade-offs and tell a compelling story
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders – strong leadership skills
  • Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
  • Challenger mindset and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change – known as an emerging change agent
  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency and trust across the team
  • Not afraid to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn – pushes the team to do the same
  • Learns new skills quickly and knows how to navigate the organization to find experts in specific domain
  • Unbiased facilitator; able to engage all people
  • Was a participant (team member, SME, stakeholder) in prior Agile teams
  • Deep knowledge of relevanOt domains
  • Comfortable enough with technology and technical areas of expertise to enable discussion to understand risks
  • Strong indirect influencer
  • Experienced in Agile Ways of Working
