Mid Level Backend Engineer / Java

One of the nation's leaders in finance and insurance is looking to add an intermediate level, backend java engineer to their team. The main responsibility would be to build out the new architectures developed by the team which are designed for application modernization. This includes building out the new cloud-deployed and microservice APIs. The ideal candidate has a strong Java background, experience in a microservices-based environment, and prior involvement in the development of high transaction APIs. This is a full-time role that starts remote, with further remote flexibility after the return to office in October. Interested candidates should live in Phoenix, AZ or have the desire to relocate. Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of prior experience working in a backend environment
• Strong background and knowledge of Java and Spring suite of tools
• RESTful API design and implementation.
• Relational and/or NoSQL database experience

• Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques
• Event Driven and Reactive Programming
• Knowledge of payments and/or financial systems
