Engineering & Construction Management company is currently hiring a full-time, temporary Construction Manager (CM) to provide construction management services to bridge and tunnel preservation projects at Zion National Park, Utah. All bridges are steel multi-girder superstructures and have a FHWA āCā classification. All bridge structures are considered safe, but repairs are recommended to increase service life and delay major rehabilitation needs. There are two tunnels requiring repair. One is 1.06 miles long and is lined with concrete materials and timber. The second tunnel is 487 feet long and is unlined. Both tunnels were constructed in 1930; the Short Tunnel was enlarged in 1993.
Place of Performance: Zion National Park, Utah
Period of Performance: 185 calendar days. Approximate dates of performance are 01-01-21 to 06-30-21; exact dates of performance have yet to be finalized and are dependent upon start of construction activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
CM shall be knowledgeable in construction practices, including the following:
Applicable building codes
Applicable safety regulations including, at minimum, a current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety training certification
Cost breakdown estimating and negotiating
Technical writing
Computer literate and able to open and manipulate Microsoft (MS) Project, Word and Excel, email and Project Management Software
It is advantageous and preferred that the CM have experience in the following:
Erosion Control
Bank Stabilization
Protection of Natural and Cultural Resources
Concrete/Shotcrete work
Asphalt work
Materials Testing
Restoration of Historic features (masonry and wood railing)
Hazardous material abatement (lead-based paint)
The CM candidate will be looked upon more favorably if they have bridge and tunnel project experience.
