Your Role and Responsibilities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a part of the strategic Compute portfolio within Digital Enterprise & Operations. It operates across global regions, servicing digital organization's application hosting demands. The AWS platform architect develops and evolves the architecture and solutions over which the AWS cloud offerings are built. As the platform architect you will:
  • Define and detail the component technical solutions and services used to deliver the services including the development of designs and other technical artifacts.
  • Continuously assess the health of platform and identify recurring problems/bottlenecks and recommend improvements to eliminate recurrence. Collaborate with the AWS service owner, engineering, and partner teams to modernize the architecture and improve the technical solutions core to the platform offerings.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for AWS cloud related engagements by application teams. Enable wider adoption of AWS cloud offerings by advising teams on how best to develop against the platform. Where appropriate champion their requirements and work on incorporating them into the architecture.
  • Collaborate with other architects, responsible for adjacent platforms i.e. Azure, Security & networking to rationalize the use of networking and security solutions to achieve operational simplification, and consistency of experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Deep knowledge and practitioner experience in AWS solutions and technologies especially Networking, Identity & Security, Management & Governance, Compute, Containers and Serverless product groups.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture using microservices, API's, containerization and serverless technologies using native cloud services.
  • Certified as an AWS Solution Architect and proven experience architecting scalable services and products on the AWS cloud for large multi-national organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate sophisticated topics in simple and accessible language.
  • Proven grasp of architecture development and design thinking in an agile environment; TOGAF certification or Open Group certification
  • Create the required artifacts (design document, diagrams, run book, ASD, HLD, LLD, etc.)
  • Design the Migration Plan solution
  • Working with project managers, and platform specialists to drive assessment, discovery, and migrations
  • Attend client workshops to articulate scope, method, and approach for the migration, working with subject matter experts to build the migration strategy, co-creating and developing a viable solution
  • Remediate and adapt client architectures to take advantage of the Cloud
  • Support company initiatives for offerings, contracts, technologies, and go-to-market.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position $84,100 to $206,149 is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. #DiceKyndryl

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Prior experience of at least 5-7 years as Enterprise IT architect, and should have involved in Application/Data center migration programs
  • AWS infrastructure engineering and designing skills at least 3-5 years
  • AWS migration solutions at least 3-5 years
  • AWS Networking, Identity & Security, Management & Governance, Compute, Containers and Serverless product groups at least 3-5 years
  • Strong understanding of cloud based application architecture using microservices, API's, containerization and serverless technologies using native cloud services at least 3-5 years
  • Leading teams towards an outcome and break down impediments
  • 3 to 5 years "Hands-on" AWS implementation experience
  • Implementation "Hands on" using Methods and/or best practices to deliver Cloud, On-Premises or Hybrid Solution
  • Mature Architecture design framework, principles and methodologies (high-level technical design, low-level technical design, and technical solution design integration)
  • Migration Solutions (high-level technical design, low-level technical design
  • Journey to Cloud Transformations (to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) strategies and principles
  • Implementation of Compute, Containers and Serverless product groups
  • Implementation of cloud-based application architecture using microservices, API's, containerization and serverless technologies using native cloud services
