IT Enterprise Architect

As a key member of the Architecture team within the Information Technology (IT) organization, the Enterprise Architect will understand the core tenants of our business and work collaboratively with business and IT leadership to define our long term technology strategy, building our strategic technology plans and orchestrating their adoption. The IT Enterprise Architect is responsible for providing strategic technical direction across the IT organization as the master aggregation point for the interconnectivity of all technical activities within and will be a collaborative champion for technology concepts and ideas. The Enterprise Architect reports directly to the Director of IT Architecture.

What you'll experience:Working collaboratively across multiple teams with an agile mindset, the successful IT Enterprise Architect will partner with key stakeholders and the IT Chief Engineer to develop, define and communicate our IT enterprise strategy, high level roadmaps, strategic technologies and design & development frameworks.

The IT Enterprise Architect works closely with the Solution Architects and Product Owners to ensure that individual program, product and service strategies tie back to the enterprise strategy and have the appropriate level of guidance and structure to drive our enterprise strategy forward as a whole.

Representative Duties & Tasks:Drive our enterprise strategy forward as the master aggregation point for all technical activity, ensuring that every technology effort within the IT organization appropriately ties back to the enterprise strategy

Build and evolve information technology reference architectures, roadmaps and artifacts in coordination with key stakeholders and the enterprise architecture team that align with business strategies and objectives

Develop, maintain and present IT enterprise strategies and roadmaps detailing the evolution of the IT enterprise from current state to future state, modeling layers of the environment including business process, applications, data, security, infrastructure and more.

Work with internal stakeholders and business partners to translate strategic requirements into usable enterprise architecture

Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies to help ensure the successful design, implementation and adoption of IT systems and products

Collaborate with Solutions Architects to ensure that systems and products being designed for and deployed into our environment align with our overall IT and business strategies

Leads evaluations of systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable cyber security specifications

Researches and analyzes technology solutions, emerging trends and changes in business needs, identifying new areas of opportunity and evolving the strategic technology direction accordingly

Effectively chooses the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering solutions

Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

Acts as technical liaison and facilitator to engage with technical SMEs and architects both external (vendors/partners) and internal (cyber security/architecture)

Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways

Keeps abreast of technology trends and collaborates with peers on emerging opportunities or threats

Modest business travel required

What you bring to the table:A Bachelor's degree in information technology, systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; Agile experience preferredMust be able to facilitate challenging conversations across all levels of the organization

Collaborative attitude and mindset, with proven ability to work well within teams

Solid engineering and scientific thinking, while still having the business acumen to tie the thinking to the business outcomes

Experience and composure to be the conductor of a very complex and challenging technical "orchestra"

Experience architecting complex landscapes and environments in a physically dispersed business environment with a strategic focus on security

Experience architecting models that include layers such as business processes, applications and data

Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks in practical implementation; Experience with SAFe agile framework a plus

Recognizes various architectural patterns, applies them appropriately, understands strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develops architectural variations as necessary

Experience defining and evolving architectures around data warehousing, master data management, data interfaces, etc., that lead to defined business processes and outcomes

Proven business acumen, translating business drivers, needs and deliverables into an overarching technology strategy linked directly to business outcomes.

Substantial written and verbal communications skills

Creative thinker with an innovative mindset; Proven ability to solve complex problems in a team environment

Ability to facilitate in diverse groups in order to reach a common goal
