Catholic Community Service is a regional, non-profit organization providing services to individuals and families throughout Southeast Alaska. Our services include programs for seniors, children and families and for individuals needing home health and hospice services. Job Description:

Our organization is seeking a Human Resource Director to oversee all aspects of HR management for our approximately 125 employees throughout Southeast Alaska. The HR Director serves as a strategic member of the CCS senior leadership team and plays an integral part in guiding key business decisions and processes. The HR Director supports our mission and champions our values of dignity, care, and compassion with all our staff, and participates in a team-based management model that values all members.

Duties include:

Oversee agency HR policies and procedures including proposing recommendations for policy/procedure changes;

Assist & advise Program Managers & employees with HR matters;

Coordinate agency recruiting including oversight of travel staffing companies for Hospice & Home Care of Juneau;

Oversee benefits administration including health insurance, 403(b), and ancillary benefits;

Manage federally mandated programs and reporting (Workers Comp, EEOC, FMLA);

Oversee and develop staff training programs including quarterly employee meetings & supervisor trainings;

Coordinate employee performance review and recognition program;

Supervise HR Coordinator;

Actively contribute to the leadership of CCS as a key member of the leadership team;

Oversee contractors and their contracts, which include IT & Compliance Consultants; and

Ability to assist in other areas of administrative management.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or similar degree as well as five years’ progressive experience in Human Resources. Additional HR or Management experience may replace educational requirement.

Previous experience as a Human Resources Manager or Director preferred, but not required.

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or SHRM certification preferred. Willingness to obtain professional certification within two years of hire.

Solid understanding of HR compliance required.

Knowledge of payroll preferred.

Exemplary people skills.

Position Information:

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Estimated 42.5-47.5 hours/week.

Office based position with flexibility to work remotely.
