Job Description:

The C5ISRO AOC Systems Administrator will support HQ PACAF, A3/6 Operations Directorate, and assigned unit with the systems requirements for the operation, maintenance, repair, integration, and enhancement of an AOC Weapon System, and other C5ISRO systems which interface with AOC Weapon System. The selected individual will be responsible for the systems engineering and technical services required to ensure that the AOC's information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably and efficiently

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform a full range of AOC system administration tasks
  • Windows and LINUX operating system administration, installation, configuration, and reconfiguration
  • AOC software installation, applications server configuration, and multi-server troubleshooting, security User ID/duty position management software, and on a noninterference basis update existing documentation to reflect major changes
  • Assist in collection, identification, categorization, initialization, and loading of local AOC system databases, and the execution and monitoring of database saves and restores
  • Monitor critical system parameters as a preventative approach to potential problems and take actions necessary to ensure the physical integrity of the databases resident on the system(s)
  • Implement and test updates to database management system software, and update existing documentation to reflect major changes
  • Develop software utilities necessary to transfer or migrate data resident on AOC weapon system databases to newly integrated systems and databases
  • Take actions necessary to ensure the physical integrity of the databases
  • Implement and test updates to database management system
  • Database administration support to include: Oracle, SQL, Sybase and local AOC system application-related activities
  • Conduct periodic database backups, database recovery, loading new databases, reinitializing and reloading databases upon installation of new software version releases
  • Performance monitoring of database and applications server, storage allocation, and server distribution
  • Maintain database configuration and server-related parameter tables, database SQL query, form, report and related script design and development,
  • Monitor application data flow and processes, external system interface implementation at the functional level
  • Reports database related problems and resolve them to the degree possible consistent with operational site configuration management restrictions
  • Assist with installation and testing of AOC systems, to include telecommunications hardware and software, designated C5ISRO systems with which the installed systems must exchange data, full systems releases, partial releases, patches, security updates to software, and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Assist in monitoring system maintenance, system operations, and system backup and recovery, and archiving of mail and message traffic

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical/electronic engineering, or mathematics
  • 4-6 years' experience administering large, multi-server, workstation/thin client, relational database structured application systems
  • May substitute 3 years relevant configuration management experience for required educational qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience with C2 or Intel systems and/or PCI3 system/database administration
  • Experience with UNIX, Solaris System Administration, Oracle Database Administration, SQL query, UNIX scripting languages, system/database monitoring and multi-server troubleshooting
  • Experience in networking in a TCP/IP-based, intranet-like, distributed client environment
