The Development Coordinator is a full-time (40 hours per week) non-exempt position which supports the Development Director with the operations of the Development Department to help acquire, cultivate, and steward AWAIC’s donors. The Development Coordinator will focus on donor acquisition, donor stewardship, and donor relations. They will ensure the integrity and accuracy of the donor database. They will assist with special events, fundraising activities and events, community outreach, and volunteer management in the Development Department.

This position requires schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend events. This position requires reliable transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

GED or High school Diploma

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of fundraising, donor relations, customer service or marketing of which six (6) months experience is in fundraising, event management, marketing, donor relations.

Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience in fund development work

Experience working with databases or a CRM system

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills

Essential Functions Include And Are Not Limited To:

Manage and maintain the donor database which includes some data entry, creating reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data.

Work collaboratively with the finance department to ensure accurate recordkeeping

Plan and implement multiple direct mail and online appeals and donor communications by collaborating with key staff and vendors.

Oversee all donor communications including gift acknowledgements, thank you letters, solicitations, and touchpoints throughout the year designed to acquire, retain, and thank donors.

Track metrics and produce reports to analyze appeal performance, identify trends, and find opportunities for growth.

Coordinate with Development Director to explore potential charitable support from foundations and corporations and identify prospective donors.

Provide support to the Development Director as needed for special events, community events, and volunteer management.

Coordinate volunteers for development department needs including events and internal processes

Act as point of contact for community events

Represents the development department and AWAIC at external functions as needed

Other duties may be assigned as needed.
