Working on a team of close-knit front office staff for a thriving specialty clinic, the Front Office/Medical Receptionist serves as the face, voice and heart of this organization. Its primary duties consist of reception, managing phones and handling medical records. While these activities are universal reception duties for all organizations, they become a unique and significant foundation for an effective, supportive and positive experience in this specialty healthcare setting.

The culture and atmosphere of this medical clinic has been described as family-like, supportive and fun. While no one ever makes light of the patients’ medical needs and the somber reality of their health, the workforce is committed to finding positivity, humor and lightheartedness wherever they can. Ideally, candidates will intuitively recognize when, where and how to demonstrate professionalism, medical courtesy, empathy, and compassion as the healthy balance is paramount to success in this critical role.

Additionally, the candidate will be a committed individual, putting his/her patients, colleagues and organization high on the priority list. Attention to detail, patience, kindness and the ability to maintain a positive, welcoming attitude round out the list of minimum behavioral competencies required for this position. Finally, he/she must have proven proficiency in data entry, phone management and a strong capacity for learning unique software systems.

This organization is willing to train but let's face it, candidates will need to have some proven job experience. So, if have the following, we'd love to meet you.

At least one (1) year of experience in the medical profession performing health records management, reception, or similar. This will help enable quicker understanding and mastery of medical record and scheduling protocols, electronic health systems, etc. However, if you don't have one year in the medical profession, perhaps you have:

At least two (2) years of receptionist/front office experience in a busy office. We're looking for someone who has had to manage phones, visitors, data entry, scheduling, etc.
