Come join our team! We are a growing, full-service dental office in Anchorage seeking an experienced, full-time Office Coordinator.

If your focus is on prioritizing patients, communication, and smooth and efficient clinic management, this job is for you! The successful candidate will have experience with dental practice software and will be diplomatic, high energy, and eager to contribute to a friendly, collaborative environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

-Multi-tasks with front-line receptionist duties

-Responds eagerly to patient and staff needs

-Checks in patients and handles patient paperwork (paperwork such as registration, medical history, HIPAA disclosure, COVID-19 requirements, financial responsibility, information release, etc.)

-Utilizes dental practice software to schedule patients, look up account balances, input demographics, etc.

-Schedules appointments to maintain full schedules, filling cancellations with immediate attention and joining the team effort to fill the future calendar with effective and consistent patient recall

-Serves patients at the completion of an appointment, coordinating with the clinical staff to post dental services, assisting with the creation of prescriptions, referrals, and treatment plans

-Assists patients with information about payment options including Care Credit

-Collects patient responsibility payment at time of service

-Assists in the preparation for future days’ appointments with completed chart information, appropriate time reserved for services scheduled, and insurance coverage estimated prior to appointment

-Maintain an organized and presentable workspace, complying with COVID-19, HIPAA and other regulations.

-Values the team and participates, making suggestions concerning workflow and efficiencies

-Backs up other team members and eagerly takes on projects

-Takes pride in creating a great environment for patients and staff

Key Dental Office Coordinator skills

-High school diploma/GED required

-1+ years’ dental office experience required

-Excellent customer service skills

-Ability to multi-task efficiently

-Keen attention to detail

-Ability to work independently to complete tasks unsupervised

-Excellent organizational and time management skills

-Good understanding of dental coding and dental services

-Working knowledge of COVID-19, OSHA, and HIPAA

-Proficiency with dental practice software, particularly scheduling; experience and proficiency with Open Dental preferred

-Excellent computer and typing skills with working proficiency of word processing, spreadsheet, and other business software.

-Accounting/bookkeeping experience a plus

-Knowledge and experience with billing insurance and handling claims a plus
