JOB STATEMENT/PURPOSE:
The Chiropractic/Administrative Assistant aids the Chiropractor during physical examination
of patients, gives specified office treatments, and keeps patients' records by performing the following
duties. This position additionally is the facilitator of proper patient flow within the office
environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Part-Time up to Full-Time(20+ hrs) including some Saturdays.
Confirm appointments for each day, notify patients who do not show, reschedule as
needed. Pull scheduled patient's charts each day.
Provides prompt, courteous, and professional service to patients.
Assigns patients to treatment room and notifies doctor or therapist of their arrival.
Writes history of patients' accident or illness, and shows patient to examining room.
Aids Chiropractor in lifting and turning patient under treatment.
Gives physiotherapy treatments, such as diathermy, galvanic, or hydrotherapy, following
directions of Chiropractor.
Takes and records patients' temperature and blood pressure, assists in x-ray procedures,
and gives first aid.
Notate any actions or conversations between doctor and patient in regards to patient's
treatment. Notate on patient's chart.
Answers telephone, schedules appointments, records treatment information on patients'
chart, and fills out insurance forms.
Prepares and mails patient's bills.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Must have 1 year experience in medical field
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Associate's degree from a two-year college or university; or one year related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
Moderate skill level in computer applications. Preferred Mac experience.
Should be a multi-tasker
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for keeping filing up-to-date.
Reschedule patients per doctor's treatment schedule.
Collect co-payments from patients.
Maintains patient confidence and protects clinics operations
Responsible for directing patients to educational materials and video materials.
Protects patients and employees
Ensures operations of equipment
Maintains professional and technical knowledge
Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements
Other duties as assigned
