Preschool Teacher (Palmer and Wasilla)

PRESCHOOL TEACHER- Create a successful environment that will promote the growth and development of young children integrating educational goals and developmentally appropriate practices into the classroom. Maintain contact with and provide services to families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

 Pre-school (ages 3-5) classroom teaching experience is required, two years is preferred. Experience adapting curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at risk, special needs, and culturally diverse populations

 Strong written and verbal communication skills

 Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet and e-mail

 Timely, competent record keeping ability. Good organizational skills

 Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and a good driving record

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Pre-hire: Fingerprinting/Background Check

Post-hire: Annual Physical/Health History CPR and First Aid Certification

Food Worker Card

Current Auto Insurance Card

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Location: Openings at both Palmer and Wasilla Head Start Centers

Supervisor: Center Coordinator

Schedule: Full-time, exempt, 40 hrs/wk mid- August – mid-May (summer and

school breaks off)

Salary: $19.70- $24.29 per hour DOE/E
