Field Engineer - Travel (secret clearance)

Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: SecretPublic Trust/Other Required: NoneJob Family: Field EngineeringGeneral Dynamics Information Technology is looking for Field Engineer Senior with travel. The program mission is to install and cutover Air Force NIPRnet network equipment to include new electrical circuits, UPS systems, switches, and cabling.Act as site supervisor for installation and survey activities to include network equipment, UPS systems, electrical systems, and other telecommunication infrastructure items.Direct and supervise sub-k activities.

Prepare survey and as-built documentation.

Research, evaluate, and develop solutions to problems.

Performs maintenance of different types of equipment and infrastructure.

Installs more advanced or new technologies based on the needs of the customer/client.

Tests equipment and systems to evaluate whether they meet compliance standards.

Report findings and provide solutions for any issues that may halt progression.

Conducts thorough follow-up assessments and checkups of equipment and make recommendations where applicable.

Provides training on product features and specifications.

A typical day would include directing and supervising electrical subcontractors, scheduling activities with base representatives, installing equipment, procuring materials, interfacing with project manager, and updating documents.

Desired Qualifications:BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

DoD Telecommunications/Networking/Cable, 2+ years of experience

Active DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret required

Must be willing to travel up to 100%

This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 18, 2022 or the start date, if after January 18. Individuals who work in or reside in Texas or Montana or work outside of the United States may be excluded from this requirement.
