Missile Defense Advanced Material Engineer

We are pleased to announce the opening for a Missile Defense Advanced Material Engineer, who will join our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, Alabama and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team that supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) GMX Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) All Up Round (AUR) Project Office Lead and Booster IPT Lead by coordinating and collaborating with the GMD Industry team on all Materials-related Manufacturing and Test processes.Responsibilities: You’ll be:
Conducting technical reviews of GMD NGI Industry manufacturing plans and procedures.
Appling comprehensive knowledge of Materials Engineering and SRM technologies and their applicability to the NGI program to research, analyze, synthesize, and critique program challenges and issues, and propose candidate solutions that align with GMD strategic goals and objectives.
Developing and presenting technical reports and briefings that convey complex ideas and present concepts, status, analysis, and/or recommendations that are clear, concise, organized, and audience relevant.
Basic Qualifications:
MS degree in STEM field and 12+ years of experience in Material Engineering in manufacturing required.
Active Secret Clearance or higher required
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to provide design evaluation and assessments including recommendations.
Understanding of welding engineering, including weld process development, qualification, and the physics of welding.
Evaluation of component fabrication and assembly methods, including the cold-working of metal plates and fastener usage.
Familiarity with propulsion technologies and concepts, particularly solid rocket motor and cold gas systems.
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently.
Experience in MDA processes.
Ability to develop documents for Program Reviews and Engineering Review Boards (ERB)
Familiar with MDA SRM Test procedures and requirements;Next Generation Interceptor (NGI); Materials Engineering; Solid Rocket Motor Manufacturing; Solid Rocket Motor Testing; and Welding SME support
