Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Cyber Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI). This position will be in Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The Principal Cyber Engineer will directly support and contribute to technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems cradle to grave, lifecycle security requirements. Performs analyses at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recover, business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Essential Functions:
  • Integrates new requirements analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues .
  • Supports Product leads in providing budget, schedule, and earned value management (EVM) metrics and supporting artifacts related to the Product development.
  • Authors technical contract deliverables.
  • Interfaces with internal integrated product teams and external entities including law enforcement, intelligence, teaming Industry partners and other government organizations or agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned to support Program Management needs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 0 years of related experience with a PhD., or 9 years of related experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Experience working in the Cybersecurity Industry supporting software and hardware development.
  • Certifications: Full DoD 8140 qualification.
  • Experience following an Agile and DevSecOps process model.
  • Experience with Document Management release process and CDRL authoring.
  • Experience supporting a new product engineering development effort in an earned value management contract.
  • Experience supporting development of Anti-Tamper requirements and countermeasures related to Critical Program Information analysis.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency, Ground Midcourse Defense systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience with Cameo modeling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and government customer personnel.
  • Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition.
  • Experience with eMASS (enterprise mission support system) is highly desired.
  • Experience with MS Project highly desired.
  • Experience with Teamcenter document release process is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the NGI Program is highly desirable.

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
