The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer located in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be responsible for ssupporting the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.

Position Responsibilities Include:
  • Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
  • Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
  • Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
  • Work under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of technical leadership and team leadership
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical/structures assembly, materials and processes engineering, and/or manufacturing research & development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ experience with parts/assembly design, electro-mechanical design and/or machine controls
  • 3+ years of experience in a production-related discipline such as Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, Supplier Management, and/or Supplier Quality

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
