Bēkən Holdings is looking for a dynamic, experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team and develop both successful external marketing and internal communication strategies. Among other qualifications, the ideal candidate will have experience in crisis communication, graphic design skills, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to analyze reports and trends.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage company brand and reputation.
  • Manage external communications and community relations to strengthen presence in each community.
  • Work with the training and development department to educate the organization on proper branding.
  • Coordinate marketing materials, branding, events, social committee, and communication efforts with subsidiaries to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate communication efforts with Executive Team, as needed, and act as the organization spokesperson.
  • Create and launch marketing campaigns, public service announcements (PSA’s), and press releases.
  • Work with local media to ensure positive exposure on radio, TV, or the Internet.
  • Utilize tools to track behavior and audience impressions, identifying trends in real-time.
  • Drive corporate strategy and message development, pitch, and announcement strategies.
  • Develop and streamline branding initiatives, internal communications, and external media relations.
  • Develop and streamline internal publications such as newsletters, releases, email announcements, planned publications, online. intranet, video, special projects, and assignments.
  • Responsible for cultivating, leveraging, and maintaining relationships among business partners while working to build brand awareness and expand the reach and impact of the organizations ongoing efforts.
  • Manage and maintain budgets for marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Oversight of events in support of the organization’s strategic priorities and in collaboration with Brand Managers and Ambassadors.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of HR compliance with all existing legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, Wage & Hour laws, Worker Compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
  • Develop strategic goals for business growth and success in support of the company’s vision and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain ongoing, accurate documentation of direct reports including performance logs, trainings, and recognition. Prepare and conduct annual job performance evaluations and establish personal and professional development goals for direct reports. Assist with ongoing training, as needed.
  • Perform other such duties as assigned by the VP of Strategic Partnerships or designee within the scope of the position, as well as those reflective of professional experience, education, and ability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in crisis communications.
  • Experience in internal and external communications.
  • Experience in graphic Design (print media and virtual).
  • Provide leadership, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with multiple audiences.
  • Interpret, analyze, monitor, and track reports and trends.
  • Identify story ideas and shape key messages to generate positive coverage.
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, strives for excellence in his/her own work, and commitment to bēkən and entities mission and values.
  • Lead and exemplify a positive attitude, appropriate boundaries and professional appearance when representing bēkən and entities in all activities and functions.
  • Knowledge of various training and teaching methods/strategies.
  • Must have exceptional communication and organizational skills, demonstrate initiative, and work well in a team-based environment.
  • Be a strategic thinker, results-oriented, and demonstrate a strong orientation toward outstanding customer service with a complete willingness to accept accountability for results.
  • Possess Leadership and problem-solving skills with ability to respond to problems calmly and independently and guide staff in doing so.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or minimum of at least five years’ experience in public relations, community relations, marketing, or related occupation with direct responsibility for publications, media relations, and communications planning and implementation, including at least three years of project management and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrate ability as a strong writer and oral communicator.
  • Must maintain professional licensure as required by degree, when applicable.
  • Must possess professional and expert knowledge of communications, as well as building and maintaining relationships.
  • Must have solid computer skills and experience using Office365, various electronic databases, including but not limited to web-based WYSIWYG editing tools and social media management platforms.
  • Must be able and willing to work hours outside of normal business hours and travel when requested.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR), criminal background check and other screening per agency requirements.
