The Endoscopy Nurse Manager is responsible for providing managerial leadership in an Endoscopy setting.
The Endoscopy Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations and is accountable for the quality of nursing care.
The position acts in collaboration with other managers within the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, directs and evaluates nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy.
Maintains documentation and improves services in accordance with written policies and in compliance with various city, state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies for the operation of the Endoscopy Center.
Provides leadership while demonstrating communication and management skills that assist in the coordination of patient care.
Relates effectively with other personnel for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other, participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures and skills of personnel.
Translates the company’s policies and procedures to employees, patients, family members, medical partners, vendors and governmental agencies as necessary.
Participates in QA activities and benchmark studies.
Serves as liaison between physicians and staff. This includes leading monthly Board Meetings, quarterly CQI meetings, quarterly safety meetings and meetings as needed.
Works in partnership with Human Resources for interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of clinical staff.
Responsible for staff wage and salary administration, motivation, corrective action, performance appraisal.
Evaluates staff performance/competency and provides opportunities for staff development based on results.
Develops and produces accurate and timely reports, including reports on statistics, audits, adverse events, patient surveys, patient complaint/grievances.
Manages patient satisfaction survey results.
Develops and tracks multiple CQI Studies annually.
Completes payroll biweekly; manages staff PTO.
Takes staff sick calls, manages staffing on a daily basis.
Creates monthly staff schedule.
Creates and manages MD schedule.
Works to optimize ASC efficiency. Looks for cost savings and presents to the Board.
Manages purchasing and maintenance of all equipment in the ASC.
Manages staff, CRNA, and MD files.
Recredentials CRNAs and MDs.
Assures that patient charts are up to date prior to procedure including entering COVID test results.
Assures that patients are appropriate for the ASC.
Must be competent with all staff roles (pre, intra, post procedure, scope room) within the Endoscopy Center and be able to move in and out of these roles as needed due to staffing issues.
Responsible for reviewing, editing, and writing Policies and Procedures of the Center. Recommends edits to the Board as needed.
Develops and plans Annual Education Day for staff; assures that all staff complete annual education as required by DOH and CMS.
Leads DOH and CMS surveys; responsible for Plan of Corrections and overseeing implementation of POC.
Leads Fire Marshal surveys; responsible for Plan of Corrections and overseeing implementation of POC.
Responsible for Fire, Life, Safety checks (eg fire wall, backup lights, fire doors, outlet checks, damper checks, sprinkler checks, fire alarm checks, HVAC checks).
Participates in corporate committees and meetings.
Maintains outside contracts with vendors.
Manages pharmacy audits, implements corrections as needed.
Responsible for the ordering of supplies for the unit. Performs cost analysis for supplies.
Leads Infection Control program for the ASC.
Manages quarterly fire drill, annual Disaster Drill, annual Earthquake drill, annual Table Top Disaster Drill.
Creates and manages workflows for staff.
Manages disasters as they arise.
Responsible for the safety of patients and staff.

Direct Supervisory Responsibility:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QualificationsQualification Requirements:
Practicing as a Registered Nurse for a minimum of 3 years preferred.
Demonstrated leadership competence and preferred 3+ years management experience in a medical setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledgeable in computer applications and their use in a clinical setting.
Proficient in speaking and writing English.
Ability to develop, understand and analyze data for the practice.
Occasional driving is required. Current WSDL required.
Education or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
Current RN licensure in the State of Washington.
BLS and ACLS Certified.
