DescriptionJoin Amazon’s Project Kuiper! This is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.The RoleThe Project Kuiper team is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager with experience in networking, internet service providers, and cloud computing environments while owning project management and program management. The role will interface with cross-functional engineering, legal, regulatory, business, and program/product management teams. Your primary focus will be on delivering Kuiper's terrestrial network infrastructure and services that enable new country launches and scaling existing countries. This role will assist engineering teams to anticipate customer needs and shape our solutions. Join us and make a difference to people around the world.Key job responsibilitiesIn this role you will:
Collaborate with engineering leaders to create and project plans for country entry to cover our network and services.
Work with product/program management to ensure that development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-offs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues
Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, firmware teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked
Drive service feature requirements with AWS and other partner teams to meet feature requirements
Establish mechanisms to manage scrums, tasks, budgets, dashboards, schedule and overall delivery for the Network Services team
Map hardware, software, and infrastructure codependencies and track accuracy of plans and technical developments for all major milestones
Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeIn this role, you will build and scale Project Kuiper’s Network Services software development programs. You are accountable for creating and working the complex program plan for the development, test, and delivery of Kuiper's terrestrial network to support country entry requirements, including core network bring up, lawful intercept, and network capacity. This plan will require interfacing with and influencing engineering and business leaders across Kuiper and AWS.About the teamThe Team is responsible for Kuiper's terrestrial network that carries customer traffic from our ground gateways to a destination network, covering both private connectivity as well as the internet. We own the architecture, design, delivery, and operations for these systems, and provide connectivity for our management services to communicate with the satellite constellation and customer terminals.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Redmond, WA, USA | Sunnyvale, CA, USABasic Qualifications
10+ years of technical program management experience
10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects

The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market.
